Abstract

The article deals with the translation of proper names in Ljubljana tourist brochures. Translations of proper names from Slovenian into English were analyzed. For the contrastive analysis, a bilingual corpus of eight brochures published by the public institute Ljubljana Tourism was compiled. In the final part, guidelines for translating proper names in tourist brochures were formed based on the results of the analysis.
