The article on Friderik Baraga š A Theoretical and Practical Grammar of the Otchipwe Language (Detroit, 1850; written in English) presents one of the most outstanding works in the field of the so called missionary linguistics. It was a Slovenian missionary of all people who carried out a pioneer work in this linguistic field; but in spite of that this work has not yet been presented in his native country. Through the basic grammatical structure the article presents the characteristic features of the Otchipwe language as a relatively poorly known non-Indo-European language, as well as Baraga conceptual.Downloads
