Abstract

The presentation of lexicographic categories for a medium-sized monolingual explanatory dictionary is based on the Dictionary of Standard Slovenian (SSKJ) which is considered a foundation and should be consulted at least as a source for comparisons. This article brings an overview of lexicographic categories with a parallel listing of actual examples from SSKJ and because of this it can also be used as a suitable learning device for gaining insight into the structure of SSKJ and its lexicographic metalanguage.
