Abstract

This article discusses the 4th International Conference on Language Variation in Europe, which was attended by 160 linguists and took place from 17 to 20 June 2007 in Nicosia, Cyprus. It comments on nine papers and three poster presentations primarily dealing with Slavic linguistics, dialectology, and sociolinguistics.
