The paper gives an overview of the Offices (historiae) for the feast Beatae Mariae Virginis ad Nives (Mary of the Snows) that were being used in Passau, Aquileia, Bohemia, and Hungary during the Middle Ages. Special attention is given to the rhymed proper office (historia propria) Ab aeterno ordinata, present in a large number of Hungarian sources, with four different melodic versions of the same text.Downloads
