Reviews of the Glasbena Matica choir in the light of its international activity

Abstract

The programmes of the concerts given by the Glasbena Matica Choir both at home and abroad, and the public responses to them cannot reflect the qualitative judgements by which the artistic strength of this ensemble would be assessed today. The reports and reviews of the concerts and visiting tours contain too few professionally qualified and unequivocal assessments, and above all scarcely any evaluations that remain free of exaggerated feelings of post-creative self-affirmation and cultural self-awareness.
