The study follows the changes of the complex of notions connected with the idea of the Czech national opera from the beginning of its formulation until the end of the seventies of the 19th-century, e.g. to the time when Bedřich Smetana´s individual compositional style was received by the Czech musical public as a style representing national music. It focuses not only on theoretical views but also on the reception attitudes to the rising original Czech operatic creation.Downloads
