Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Authors confirm that they are the authors of the submitting article, which is under is under consideration to be published (print and online) in journal De musica disserenda by Založba ZRC, ZRC SAZU.
  • All authors have seen and approved the paper being submitted.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor it is under consideration in another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Upon publishing an article in a journal the authors agree to license non-exclusive copyrights to ZRC SAZU (Založba ZRC): they retain the copyright in the scope that enables them to continue to use their work, even by publishing it in one of the personal or institutional repositories before the publication of the article in the journal.
  • Authors consent to publication of their works under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).
  • Permission has been obtained for the use (in printed and electronic format) of copyrighted material from other sources, including online sources. Restrictions on the transfer of copyright on this material will be clearly indicated.
  • All the necessary permits to work with people have been obtained in the research related to the article (in accordance with the applicable laws and institutional guidelines and approved by the relevant institutions).
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal section.

Author Guidelines

The articles to be published in De musica disserenda should be submitted to the Institute of Musicology, Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (p. b. 306, SI-1001, Ljubljana), or to the e-mail addres of the journal (dmd@zrc-sazu.si). They must be written in MS Word. The deadlines for submissions are June 30th and December 31st for the volume published in the next half of the year. The length of the articles should be c. 30,000 characters with spaces (including footnotes, abstract, summary, list of the quoted literatur as well as other appendices).  They may be written in English, Slovenian, German, Italian, French, by agreement with the editor also in other languages.

Each article must include a short abstract (up to 50 words), up to five keywords, a list of the quoted literature and sources, and a longer summary (up to 500 words).  Tables, pictures, music examples should be numbered and equipped with titles. Articles written in languages other than English must additionally include translations of the title, keywords, abstract and summary. The authors must  provide information on their career: the academic title, the scholarly field of their education, affiliation, position, postal address, e-mail. 

After the article has been accepted for publication, two sets of page proofs are sent to the author: the first one after the peer-review when minor amendmets concerning the contents are still possible, and another one after the completed layout of the volume; on this stage only technical details may be improved.   

No autorship fee is payed for the articles appearing in De musica disserenda.

The authors are entitled to the free copy of the publication and to the PDF file of the published article.
