Povzetek
Najnjovejša knjiga vodilnega britanskega arheoastronoma predstavlja poglobljeno sintezo rezultatov dosedanjega preučevanja prazgodovinske astronomije na Britanskem otočju, obenem pa podaja kritičen pregled razvoja teoretskih osnov ter metod in tehnik, uporabljenih v arheoastronomskih raziskavah, zaradi česar jo je mogoče označiti kot pomemben prispevek k razvijanju arheološke metodologije nasploh. Prepričljivi argumenti, s katerimi avtor utemeljuje vlogo arheoastronomskih preučevanj v okviru arheološke vede, nudijo tudi primerno priliko za razmislek o potrebi po vključevanju tovrstnih študij v slovensko arheologijo.
