Kraljevič na gori Idi
Abstract
One of the reliefs built into a wall of the parish church at Vojnik (Hohenegg) near Celje is of special interest, although in a rather bad condition. It represents Pariš, sitting on a throne with a high back. dressed in oriental fashion. holding a syrinx and a pedum. beside him the severely damaged figure of Hermes. The enthroned Pariš is depieted as a shephcrd only by these tvvo attributes. It may therefore be assumed that this Pariš represented in this relief, is not that version of Paris, who was exposed on mount Ida. Hovvever. it is Pariš, the prince, who vvas sent out by his father to the flocks, as is mentioned in the Iliad of other princes as well.
