Začetki železnodobne poselitve v osrednji Sloveniji
Abstract
The article discusses the problematics of the transition from the Late Bronze Age to the Iron Age in Central Slovenia. Important changes took place in that period (the end of the 9lh and the 8th centuries BC), which were expressed in new settlement, economic and socio-political structures. These new elements were formed under influences from the Danubian region and the Mediterranean world. Special attention is paid to the changes in the settlement structure of Dolenjska, where a clear settlement discontinuity has been determined for the 8th century BC. Namely, in this period the Late Bronze Age upland settlements were definitely deserted, whilst new hillforts defended by ramparts arose in their immediate vicinity and continued to be settled up to the Roman occupation of this area.
