Paleolitske in mezolitske najdbe iz jame Špehovke pri Zgornjem Doliču
Abstract
Excavations in the cave of Špehovka near Zgornji Dolič were carried out by S. Brodar in 1935-1937. He published two short reports, however, monograph publication did not take place after the War. The author has been able to fundamentally present the site on the basis of his writings. However, he also took into account his own trial trenching of the deeper layers (1957 and 1990). Up to now the cave has been considered to the Mousterian. Aurignacian, Gravettian and Mesolithic. Detailed examination of the position of all of the finds has led to the conclusion that there is no Mousterian in the cavc. but that the cultural sequence begins with the Aurignacian. However, there remains the possibility that there may still be another cultural layers in the deeper layers below the alluvial sediments.
