Upodobitve slonov v livarski kulturi in problem njihovega izvora
Abstract
The starting-point of the artiele is two pottery fragments with images of elephants from the late Neolithic Hvar Culture. This culture had contacts with the Greek Dimini Culture, while there is no evidence for contacts with more eastern cultures. The author has found considerable evidence for the contacts of the Hvar Culture with the contemporary cultures of southern Italy, Malta, and northern Africa, where images of elephants and other zoomorphic motifs are also known.
