Late Roman Črnomelj and Bela krajina
Abstract
Črnomelj is a small town located at the centre of Bela krajina, the extreme southeastern part of Slovenia. Recent rescue excavation in the historic town centre has revealed important traces of Late Roman occupation, which add a new dimension to the archaeology of the town and raise a number of questions about the town and the Bela krajina region as a whole in the Late Roman period.
