Abstract

The article presents a partially preserved marble monument which was, until recently, in a secondary position immured in the wall of a house. Elaborate friezes decorate two sides: the attributes of Attis and Cybele are displayed within a decorated frame on the front side, while the attributes of Apollo are on the left side. The author compares this monument with the unfinished marble honorific altar from Celje which also exhibits the attributes of Attis and Cybele on one side and the attributes of Dionysus on the other side. The two monuments draw attention to a group of similar monuments in Celje and it's nearby surroundings.
