Bizantinski import v zgodnjih slovanskih kulturah Jugoslavije

Abstract

Com paring Byzantine im ported objects from early Slav graves on the te rrito ry of Yugoslavia w ith the same or sim ilar objects found in Slav graves in Pannonia and Czechoslovakia, we come to the conclusion that im port took place during 1 0 th and 1 1 th centuries. It was by commercial communications betw een Byzantium and w estern countries that im port was carried out. To all appearance goo-ds w ere transported by the D anube either from Byzantium itself or from, its w orkshops on the shore of the Black Sea. By the sam e way goods w ere im ported to C entral Europe.
