The article presents a history of language and gender, focusing on linguistic sexism. The article then presents the most important features of language and gender in Slovenian, and feminine designation is discussed in greater detail. This is followed by a brief presentation of an analysis of masculine and feminine designations based on the Slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika (Standard Slovenian Dictionary).Downloads
