Lice u hrvatskom jeziku: uvod u problematiku

person, transpositions of persons, human impersonal pronoun uses, CroatianAbstract
The article provides a concise description of the use of grammatical person in Croatian, which can also serve as a model for future more or less detailed descriptions. The introduction warns of the problem of theoretical frameworks in which there is no room for a description of the use of person and certain other important phenomena related to grammatical categories and the use of particular word classes. In the second section, person is described as a discourse role marker: the basic meanings of person, the transpositions of these meanings and person as a social deixis marker are described. The third section describes the obfuscating uses of person, i.e. those in which person denotes a general or unspecified human entity. The conclusion lists basic advantages of the proposed model of description of person in Croatian and considers briefly a possible solution to the problem of the lack of room for the description of certain linguistic phenomena.
