Abstract

Academician Dr Dragotin Cvetko was the initiator of Slovenian musicology in two respects. Scientifically he provided after World War II the basic historical works on Slovenian music. Institutionally, he enabled the establishment of musicology studies as a single-major academic study programme and research of mainly Slovenian music to be conducted at the dedicated institute. He was one of leading international musicologists.
