Villanelle alla napolitana by Giacomo Gorzanis are simple love songs, full of wit, taunting and mocking. The caricature presentation of the lyrics has a recognizable comic effect, and provides opportunities for improvised mimic and gesticulatory elements. These characteristics occur as the essential elements of the dissemination of genre to countries beyond the Italian speaking area.Downloads
