This article deals with the state of research on Slovenian opera composition and production. The term “Slovenian opera,” which encompasses opera composition as well as opera production, represents the main topic of inquiry. The author suggests using “music-theatrical practice” as a replacement. The fundamental historical studies of Slovenian opera have already been done, and so musicology should concentrate on interdisciplinary investigations of opera in Slovenia.Downloads
