The Graz University Library (UB Graz) holds a Carthusian antiphoner from the end of the 13th century (MS 273), which was used by monks at the Žiče (Germ. Seitz) monastery. It is one of the oldest Carthusian antiphoners. Several authors believe that it was written by several scribes, although these scribes are not precisely defined in the literature. The article discusses the main palaeographic properties of the codex, and focuses especially on the differences in the text and notation, thus trying to answer the question about the number and specific characteristics of the different scribes who took part in producing the manuscript.Downloads
