Abstract

Avtor obravnava napis na etruskizirajoči gemi iz 1. stoletja pred Kr., ki jo hrani Britanski muzej pod št. 960. Napis podaja v latinici dvočleno etruščansko osebno ime, ki pa izvira iz italskega onomastičnega kroga. Gentilicij mariu je nov primer za tip na iu izvedenih osebnih imen, kognomenov in apelativov v etruščanskem jeziku.
