Panonske pašne spone iz poznega 6. in 7. stoletja

Abstract

This article deals with a group of belt-buckles from the Early Middle Ages, the so called "Pannonische Giirtclschnallen". These buckles are stylistically related to Byzantine belt-buckles, but their distribution is largely restricted to Pannonia. It can be called 'interethnic'. because the buckles have been found in graves of various population groups. The author analyses their chronological position, their distribution and origin. One of the most important aspects is the relationship that exists between the "Pannonischc Schnallen" on the one hand and the "Schnallen mit Ricmcnschlaufc", according to S. Uenzc. and the "Slawischc Bugelfibeln", according to J. Werner, on the other hand.
