Prispevek obravnava prihodnost kot predmet kulturnoantropološkega raziskovanja in analitični koncept, pri čemer so predstavljene študije zadnjih petdeset let, od tistih v domeni »kulturne futuristike« in anticipacijske antropologije do tistih, ki vidneje sooblikujejo antropologijo prihodnosti. O različnih pristopih razpravljava primerjalno in problemsko (prihodnost kot kulturno dejstvo, veččasovnost, časovno delovanje, metafizični prezentizem, več prihodnosti) ter pojasnjujeva raziskovalne okvire, ki jih razvijamo v projektu o urbanih prihodnostih.
