Staranje doma s pomočjo informacijsko-komunikacijskih tehnologij

Zaradi staranja prebivalstva se razvite države vse bolj soočajo s povečevanjem finančnih potreb za zagotavljanje ustreznega zdravstvenega varstva in socialne ter stanovanjske oskrbe za starejše. Eden od odzivov družbe na te probleme je zamisel, da bi moralo biti starejšim ljudem zagotovljeno, da bi čim dlje časa ostali v domačem okolju, v katerem bi bili sposobni živeti čim samostojneje in čim bolj kakovostno. Članek izhaja iz domneve, da je koncept staranja domi uresničljiv s pomočjo informacijsko-komunikacijskih tehnologij in da bi ga zato morale razvite družbe čim prej vključiti v sistem rednega izvajanja zdravstvene in socialne oskrbe. Izkazalo se je, da bi bilo udejanjanje zelo zapleteno in bi zahtevalo skrbno načrtovanje, še posebej v Sloveniji.
