Reasons for Emigration - Recollections by Emigrants of Their Departure Abroad
Abstract
The author establishes the imporrtance of the autobiographic method in investigating the reasons of the emigration of Slovenians, in the case to Australia. With consideration of the recollections by individuals of the time of their departure abroad, we come to value, above all, individual reasons for emigrating, which precisely becouse of their heterogeneity, are not conductive to generalisations. In this way the process of emigration shows us the importance of the individual - not the multitude, as was the custom in this area of research heretofore.
