History of a Journal

Dve domovini • Two Homelands journal was established by the Slovenian Migration Institute of the Research Center of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 1990 and is still today the only scientific journal for migration studies in Slovenia. The first issue was 415 pages long and has presented the integral overview of the research about the Slovenian emigration for the first time. The journal has been published once a year in the first decade, since then there are two issues per year. The journal has also developed thematically and is today dedicated to local, regional and global aspects of migration in the historical and contemporary perspectives.
