Abstract

One of the fundamental issues addressed by the project EU-topia: A View from the Outside and from the Inside is thinking about and understanding the possibility of the European Union as a utopian imaginarium and project that arose in the thoughts of its founding fathers, especially Robert Schuman and Jean Monnet. The project thus focuses on history and the creative power of the utopian imagination, on the dilemmas and variously designed utopias of sociopolitical systems themselves, on the issue of bridges or borders and the groups that form them, and not least of all on the imaginarium of the Europe—a paradise that appears especially attractive to refugees and migrants.
