The role of landslides in the proccsses of landform transformation in the hills east of Celje, Slovenia, Yugoslavia

The analysis of 325 landslides from the selected area of sub-Pannonian hills east of Celje shows that landslides are a constituent part of systems of slope processes (217 or 66.8 percent out of 325) and fluvio-erosional processes (108 or 33.2 percent). They occur on specific rocks, mostly on Miocene sand and sandstone (158) and andesitic tuff (109). The dependence on land use is rather weak. 172 landslides (52.9 percent) occur in woodland, 79 (24.3 percent) on meadows and 64 (19.7 per cent) in orchards. We consider that the landslides are a constituent part of natural processes of landform transformation in this area, not essentially influenced by human activities.
