Abstract

The study is a complete review of the geomorphological development of the Kanin Mountains together with the systematics of the dandforms. A geomorphological map in colours in the scale 1 :25.000 is added as a first attempt to represent a high mountainous landscape in our country. There are numerous illustrations which explain the subject. In the foreground of the study is the evolutional, moriphological and dimensional differentiation of the high mountainous landscape. AIso the morphology of the pliocenic plateau is discussed and the connections of the massive with the neighbouring country. The skednji — divides are belived to be the erosional rests between the slopes. Numerous are erosi'onal and accumulation proofs of strong glacial transforming of the surface. But dominant are karst and poligenetic depression landforms. Altogether, a good example of the glacial karst in which also a great deal of the geological influences have been established, first of all different degrees of dolomitisation of the limestone, influence of the dip of strata on the pavements and the influence of the jointing system on karstic dissection of the rock.
