Fenomen »balkanskega islama« kot dejavnik medkulturnega in etnično-socialnega dialoga

Avtorji v prispevku na novo konceptualizirajo »balkanski islam« kot dinamičen in translokalni pojav, na katerega vplivajo migracije, imperialna dediščina in sodobni transnacionalni procesi. Analizirajo ga onkraj esencialističnega vidika, kot kontekstualno pogojeno konfiguracijo praks, institucij in identitet. V svoji študiji z uporabo interpretativnega in metamodernega okvira izpostavljajo prepletanje lokalnega in globalnega, tradicije in modernosti. Njihove ugotovitve kažejo, da »balkanski islam« deluje kot prostor medkulturnega dialoga, kjer se v zgodovinsko pluralnih družbah nenehno vzpostavljajo raznolike oblike pripadnosti.
