This paper considers motives of Saint Mary’s death and Assumption and her saving mediation in the last hour of individual in legendary and religious folk songs, as well as apocryphal prayers. With the interdisciplinary comparative method, we point on the source of religious motives from early Christian Apocrypha, included in Slovenian folk songs. Mary is well payed for her role of God’s Mother with Assumption of body and soul. Her new position in heaven is to help the men as always-merciful mother.
