Abstract

The article discusses the supernatural powers which - according to the beliefs of numerous peoples - certain shepherds possess. For this reason people made distinctions between those shepherds who possessed this knowledge and those who did not. According to the author, shepherds’ knowledge of magic referred primarily to their power over wild animals, particularly over wolves.
