Abstract

The contribution discusses a Late Roman and Early Medieval necropolis, situated in the village of Brezje near Zreče in northeastern Slovenia. We determined a triad of cult localities in the near vicinity and demonstrated that the necropolis is incorporated in the system of the so-called ritual angle. The main orientation of the burials, and at the same time one side of the triangle, is the winter solstice (≈ Christmas) sunrise. There are also two Bronze Age cemeteries situated within the system of the ritual angle.
