O nastajanju Slovenskega lingvističnega atlasa

The idea of creating a linguistic atlas which would include all Slovenian dialects has a long history, ever since the beginning of 20th century when there appeared first linguistic atlases in Europe. However, the idea began to realize two years ago when the Dialectological section of the Institute of Slovenian Language Fran Ramovš SRS SASA started the extensive and complex preparations for the first volume of Slovenian Linguistic Atlas (SLA) – Human Body. The article tries to illuminate what a linguistic atlas is and what places in west Slovenia are the SLA net points.
