An encounter between philosophy and art
Keywords:
art, philosophy, Badiou, Nancy, truthAbstract
The aim of the article is to answer two principal questions: can we still speak of the essence of art and philosophy, without falling into the metaphysical and ideological traps that Jean-François Lyotard warned of? What kind of role should a contemporary aesthetics play, especially in the reflection of the relations between philosophy and art? The discussion leans on the current French philosophy, particularly on the thought of Alain Badiou and Jean-Luc Nancy. The article tries to find these answers by exposing their different ontological views on truth, which bring them together more then keeping them apart.Downloads
