Models of History of Science
Abstract
The author discusses Serres' criticism on the concept of global history on one hand and his rela-tivisation of the concept of recurrent history of science on the other hand. The fact that in the real history of science it is possible to discover at least two types of temporality - the intersected, discontinuous temporality of invention and the continuity of tradition - makes Serres think that the complexity of the historical development of science can be explained only with combination of connected and disconnected models of history of science.Downloads
